Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Our Creations and Their Unique Character
1. What makes a UnioMarc® creation distinctive?
Every UnioMarc® creation combines the expressiveness of handcrafted glass with the purity of minimalist design. The rich textures, reliefs, and subtle nuances of the glass contrast with clean-lined structures designed to complement it without competing for attention.
This balance defines the aesthetics, assembly, and functionality of each piece. The glass brings its own artistic composition, while the overall design supports it and integrates it into a functional piece of collectible design.
2. What does “Unique Finish Edition · 1/1” mean?
It means that the artistic glass finish exists on a single piece only. Its combination of texture, relief, colour, and composition is developed by hand and is not reproduced in another work.
The 1/1 designation refers to the glass finish, not the furniture model. A model such as Panot can be produced again with the same structure and dimensions, but each piece features glass with its own visual identity. The model’s design remains consistent; its artistic finish is never repeated.
3. Where and how are UnioMarc® pieces made?
UnioMarc® creations are conceived in our atelier in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Barcelona, where we develop the artistic glasswork using our own artisanal techniques.
The glass is carved and worked by hand to create its textures, reliefs, and finishes. This craftsmanship is combined with precision manufacturing for the other components of each work, according to the materials and requirements of the design.
Every piece brings together two complementary qualities: the individuality of handcrafted glass and the precision of its structure and assembly.
4. Can the colours, transparency, and reflections of the glass differ from the photographs?
Yes. The same piece can reveal different nuances depending on the lighting, surroundings, and viewing angle. Colour, the depth of the reliefs, transparency, and reflections are perceived differently under natural or artificial light and as you move around the work.
Photography and individual screen settings also affect how colours are represented. Images allow you to appreciate the finish, but cannot fully capture every nuance the glass reveals when experienced in person.
Bespoke Commissions
5. Can I commission a piece with custom dimensions, materials, or finishes?
Yes. Alongside the creations available in our catalogue, we consider bespoke commissions as independent projects, exploring dimensions, materials, and finishes tailored to the needs of your space.
Pieces listed in our catalogue are purchased as presented, with the dimensions, materials, and glass finish specified on their product pages. Customisation does not alter an existing work; it leads to a new creation.
Through PERSONALIZED ASSISTANCE, you can share your preferences and the requirements of your project. We will assess the possibilities according to the model and its technical requirements, preserving its aesthetic identity, stability, and functionality, and prepare a tailored quotation for your commission.
Because bespoke pieces are created to your agreed specifications, we do not accept returns for a change of mind. This does not affect your statutory rights, including those relating to defects or a failure to meet the agreed specifications.
6. Can I choose the colours and composition of the glass for a bespoke commission?
You can share your preferences for colour, texture, and artistic expression so we can explore how to translate them into handcrafted glass. This creative direction allows us to develop a finish that reflects your aesthetic sensibility and complements its intended setting.
Customisation establishes an artistic direction, rather than an exact reproduction. Working the glass by hand introduces distinctive nuances in relief, transparency, and colour distribution, giving every finish its own identity.
We can work within a shared aesthetic vision, but never reproduce the glass finish of another work exactly. The exclusivity of each finish is preserved in every bespoke commission.
7. How long does a bespoke commission take?
As a guide, the estimated delivery time for a bespoke commission is 4 to 5 weeks, although this may vary depending on the complexity of the piece, the materials selected, the extent of customisation, and our current production schedule.
Each project is assessed individually. You will receive the estimated timeframe for your commission with your tailored quotation, before confirming your order.
Time is an essential part of craftsmanship. Each stage requires its own care and attention, from the finish and assembly to the details that define the work.
Purchasing and Payments
8. How can I check the availability and specifications of a UnioMarc® piece?
Each product page details the piece’s availability, dimensions, materials, and glass finish, alongside photographs and information about the work.
Every listed piece is offered for purchase with the specifications shown on its product page. Its dimensions, materials, and finishes cannot be modified: you acquire the creation as it has been conceived and presented.
To request a new piece tailored to your project, please refer to Bespoke Commissions. These projects are considered separately and do not involve modifications to existing works in the catalogue.
9. Where can I buy a UnioMarc® piece?
You can purchase our collectible design pieces through the UnioMarc® website, our authorised partners, art galleries, and specialist retailers that represent our work, subject to availability within each sales channel.
The handcrafted nature of our creations and the individuality of each glass finish mean that availability is limited. Each piece is offered exclusively for purchase. Pieces cannot be reserved in advance; a piece may briefly appear as Reserved while another purchase is being completed.
10. What payment methods are accepted?
On the UnioMarc® website, all payments are processed exclusively through PayPal.
For purchases through our partners, art galleries, or specialist retailers, payment methods depend on the individual platform or establishment. You can review the available options and payment terms before completing your purchase.
11. Do prices include taxes and shipping?
For purchases made by private customers through the UnioMarc® website with delivery to mainland Spain or the Balearic Islands, the selling price includes the applicable VAT.
Shipping costs are not included in the price of the piece. They are calculated according to the destination and transport requirements and are detailed before payment, so you know the total cost of your purchase before confirming it.
For purchases requiring a quotation, you will receive a breakdown of the amounts, applicable taxes, and shipping conditions before proceeding with your purchase.
For purchases through other sales channels, please refer to the prices and shipping terms provided by the relevant retailer, gallery, or platform.
12. Will I receive an invoice for my purchase?
Yes. For purchases made directly from UnioMarc®, you will receive an invoice containing your billing details, identification of the piece, and a breakdown of the amounts and applicable taxes.
When payment has been made before delivery, the final invoice will reflect the amount already paid, without duplicating the purchase amount or generating an additional charge.
For purchases through other sales channels, invoicing is handled in accordance with the terms of the retailer, gallery, or platform where the purchase is completed.
Shipping and Delivery
13. Does UnioMarc® offer worldwide shipping?
We ship our creations worldwide. The UnioMarc® website allows you to select your delivery destination and automatically calculate shipping costs for both domestic and international orders.
For purchases through our authorised partners, art galleries, or specialist retailers, available destinations and shipping terms are those provided by the respective sales channel.
14. How can I check shipping costs and estimated delivery times?
When viewing a piece on the UnioMarc® website, select the destination country. The system will automatically calculate the purchase amount, displaying the price of the piece, applicable taxes for your destination, and shipping costs separately.
Shipping is not included in the price of the work. It is shown as a separate amount so you can review the total before completing your purchase.
We prepare your piece and hand it over to the carrier within 10 calendar days of order confirmation. The estimated delivery time then depends on the destination and the transport service. Estimated transit times by destination, and the maximum delivery period we commit to, are set out in our Shipping & Returns Policy. Should you need a piece to arrive by a particular date, please contact us before purchasing so we can assess whether this is possible.
15. How are UnioMarc® pieces packaged and protected during shipping?
Each creation is prepared with packaging tailored to its dimensions, materials, and individual characteristics, with particular attention to the handcrafted glass surface, edges, and structural components.
The packaging is designed to keep the piece stable during transit and minimise exposure to impacts, movement, and abrasion. Our care for each work extends beyond the atelier to the way it is prepared for its journey.
On arrival, we recommend checking the condition of the packaging before opening it and retaining it, together with all protective materials, until you have confirmed that the piece is in good condition.
16. Where is the piece delivered, and who is responsible for moving it into place?
For purchases made directly through UnioMarc®, delivery is to the kerbside at street level. The transport service does not include bringing the package inside the building, carrying it upstairs, or placing the work in its final position.
Moving the piece indoors and positioning it are the customer’s responsibility. Before delivery, we recommend reviewing the dimensions and weight listed on the product page, checking access routes, and arranging any assistance or equipment needed to handle the work safely.
For purchases through our partners, art galleries, or specialist retailers, please refer to the delivery terms provided by the respective sales channel.
17. What should I do if my order arrives damaged?
If you notice visible damage to the packaging, we recommend recording it on the carrier’s delivery receipt. If the damage is substantial, you may refuse delivery and let us know the reason so we can investigate.
If you discover damage to the piece when unpacking it, contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 24 hours of delivery, at info@uniomarc.es, quoting your purchase reference and, where possible, including photographs of the work, its packaging, and the affected areas.
Keep the packaging and avoid assembling, using, or attempting to repair the damaged piece. We will review the issue and guide you through the next steps.
If you purchased through a partner, gallery, or specialist retailer, please also report the issue to the platform or establishment where you made your purchase.
Authenticity and Digital Identity
18. What does the Certificate of Authenticity for my UnioMarc® piece include?
Every UnioMarc® creation includes a Certificate of Authenticity permanently linked to the piece, documenting its origin, creation date, materials, finishes, and handcrafted details.
The certificate records the piece’s unique certification number, edition details of its artistic glass finish, and registered owner. It also includes an original photographic archive showing the work exactly as it left our atelier.
More than a document, it forms part of the work’s Digital Identity: a record that brings together its distinctive characteristics, certifies its originality, and preserves its history. The 1/1 designation refers to the artistic glass finish, not the furniture model.
19. How do I access my piece’s Digital Identity through Owner Access?
Together with your piece, you will receive a metal plaque engraved with your piece's Certificate of Authenticity number and your private OWNER ACCESS password. OWNER ACCESS is the private area of the UnioMarc® website dedicated to your work’s Digital Identity.
To sign in, select OWNER ACCESS on our website and enter the certificate number and password engraved on your plaque.
Here, you can view the certificate, the documented characteristics of your piece, its original photographic archive, and its provenance and ownership information.
Your creation’s documentation remains together in a private space, allowing its identity to accompany it throughout its lifetime.
20. How do I update the registered ownership if I give my piece as a gift or sell it?
If you give your piece as a gift or sell it, contact us at info@uniomarc.es, quoting its certification number, to request an update to the registered owner. We will guide you through the steps needed to make the change and arrange the new owner’s access to the work’s Digital Identity.
Updating the registered ownership allows the work’s history to continue while preserving everything that identifies it: its certification number, the characteristics of its artistic glass finish, and its original photographic archive.
The work changes hands; its identity remains.
Care and Maintenance of Your UnioMarc® Piece
21. How should I clean and care for the handcrafted glass on my UnioMarc® piece?
Caring for each creation means respecting both the glass and its artistic finish. Cleaning should be adapted to the characteristics of each surface, distinguishing between everyday-use areas and exposed reliefs or decorative treatments.
To remove dust from smooth surfaces, use a soft, clean, lint-free cloth without applying pressure. Avoid wiping across reliefs where the cloth could catch, and do not rub delicate decorative details directly.
Before applying water or a cleaning product to the artistic finish, consult the care instructions for your piece.
22. Which cleaning products and tools should I use or avoid?
For routine cleaning, use soft, non-abrasive cleaning materials and products confirmed to be compatible with your piece’s finish.
Avoid scouring pads, stiff brushes, blades, and abrasive household cleaners. Do not apply alcohol, solvents, degreasers, limescale removers, or glass cleaners to artistic finishes without first consulting UnioMarc®.
The pumice powder and cork polishing block supplied with your piece have a specific purpose: treating superficial signs of wear on the bare glass surface, as explained in the following section. This care kit does not replace routine cleaning and must not be used on other materials or finishes.
23. How can I protect the glass surface and remove minor marks and scratches?
To help prevent scratches, lift objects when repositioning them rather than sliding them across the glass. Use soft, clean pads beneath items with rough bases, and avoid impacts, particularly around the edges.
Your piece is supplied with a bag of pumice powder and a cork polishing block, intended for maintaining its bare glass surface. This kit is designed to remove minor marks and superficial scratches that may develop through regular use.
Before use, mix the supplied pumice powder with water until you obtain a uniform mixture. Then use the cork polishing block to work the mixture over the marks, following the care instructions for your piece.
This procedure is limited to the designated bare glass surfaces. It must not be used on artistic finishes, coatings, or other materials within the work. For deep scratches, impact damage, or uncertainty about the area you wish to treat, contact us before proceeding.
24. Can I place hot, cold, or wet containers directly on the glass?
Everyday containers, including those that are cold or wet, can be placed directly on the glass surface.
The precaution is to avoid direct contact with very hot containers. In these cases, use suitable heat-resistant protection between the container and the glass.
25. Is UnioMarc® furniture suitable for outdoor use?
Our creations are designed as indoor furniture. Their materials, finishes, and construction details are selected for interior spaces, where their functionality and artistic expression can be fully appreciated.
They are not intended to be left exposed to the elements or used as outdoor furniture.
26. How should I care for the structure and other materials of my piece?
Aluminium, wood, marble, and other materials each require care suited to their nature and finish. Do not use the same cleaning product across the entire piece without first confirming its compatibility with every surface.
Avoid applying polishes, waxes, oils, or protective treatments that have not been recommended for your piece’s specific materials and finishes.
Through PERSONALIZED ASSISTANCE, you can request guidance on caring for each component.
27. How should I handle, lift, or move my piece to avoid damage?
Our works are composed of independent components that are handled separately during assembly, disassembly, and transport. The glass and structural components should be lifted and moved individually, taking the weight and dimensions of each into account.
Before moving them, remove any objects resting on the piece and prepare a clear route. Do not drag the work or any of its components.
Pay particular attention to edges, support points, and contact between materials. Arrange the assistance and equipment needed for safe handling. For heavy components or complex moves, use specialist professionals.
28. What should I do if my piece is damaged or needs restoration?
If your piece has damage beyond the superficial marks covered by its routine maintenance, contact us at info@uniomarc.es, providing its certification number or reference, together with photographs of the complete work and the affected area.
We will review the information and guide you through the next steps. Apart from the intended treatment using the supplied care kit, avoid attempting repairs, applying adhesives, or retouching finishes yourself.
If the damage affects the integrity of the glass or the stability of the work, stop using it until its condition can be assessed.
Each intervention requires an individual assessment. Its feasibility will depend on the material, finish, and extent of the damage; restoring the exact original condition may not always be possible.
Returns, Refunds and Warranty
29. Can I cancel or amend my order?
To cancel a purchase or correct your order details, contact us as soon as possible at info@uniomarc.es, quoting your purchase reference. We will review the status of your order and, where possible, process your request before it is dispatched.
Pieces purchased from our catalogue are supplied with the specifications shown on their product pages. Their dimensions, materials, and finishes cannot be modified. Cancellations and returns are handled in accordance with the right of withdrawal explained in the following section.
For bespoke commissions, any changes to the agreed specifications require a prior assessment and the agreement of both parties. These commissions are subject to the specific return conditions outlined in question 31.
30. How can I return a UnioMarc® piece and receive a refund?
When purchasing a catalogue piece through the UnioMarc® website as a consumer, you have 14 calendar days from receipt to notify us of your decision to return it, without giving a reason. This right of withdrawal does not apply to bespoke commissions.
To request a return, email info@uniomarc.es, providing your purchase reference and identifying the piece you wish to return. We will provide the return address and shipping instructions. After notifying us, you have a further 14 calendar days to send the piece back, unless we agree to arrange collection.
Return the work with all its components and accessories, securely protected and preferably in its original packaging. You may inspect the piece to establish its characteristics and functionality. You are only responsible for any loss in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary for that inspection. The customer is responsible for the direct return shipping costs, provided this has been disclosed before purchase.
Your refund will include the price of the piece and the standard delivery charges, but not any additional charges for a more expensive delivery option you selected. Refunds are issued through the original payment method, without fees, within 14 calendar days of receiving your withdrawal notice. Unless we have offered to collect the work, we may withhold the refund until we receive the piece or evidence that it has been sent back, whichever occurs first.
If your piece is defective or has been damaged during shipping, this will not be treated as a change-of-mind return. Please contact us so we can assess the issue and arrange the appropriate remedy without the return costs associated with exercising the right of withdrawal.
31. Can bespoke commissions be returned?
Bespoke commissions cannot be returned for a change of mind. These are new creations made to the specifications agreed with the client and are therefore excluded from the right of withdrawal applicable to online purchases of non-personalised pieces.
This condition applies to independent bespoke projects, not to catalogue pieces simply because their artistic glass finish is unique.
The exclusion of the right of withdrawal does not affect your statutory rights if the work is defective or does not meet the agreed specifications. In such cases, we will assess the issue and arrange the appropriate remedy under the applicable statutory guarantee.
32. What warranty covers my UnioMarc® piece?
Every UnioMarc® piece purchased by a consumer is covered by a legal guarantee of conformity of three years from the date of delivery, as established by Spanish consumer law. We apply this three-year period to all our consumer customers, wherever they live. If the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence grants you a longer period or additional rights, you retain that protection. The guarantee applies to both catalogue pieces and bespoke commissions.
The guarantee covers defects present at delivery and failures to conform to the agreed characteristics, quality, and functionality. It does not cover normal wear and tear or damage caused by impacts, improper use, or treatments incompatible with the materials, unless these result from an underlying defect present at delivery.
To report an issue, contact us at info@uniomarc.es, providing your purchase reference or the work’s certification number, together with photographs of the complete piece and the affected area. We will review the information and guide you through the next steps.
Where an issue is covered by the legal guarantee, repair or replacement will be provided free of charge in accordance with applicable law. If these remedies are not possible, or other legally specified circumstances apply, you may be entitled to a price reduction or to end the purchase contract and receive the appropriate refund.
For purchases through our authorised partners, art galleries, or specialist retailers, you may report the issue to the seller from whom you purchased the piece. You may also contact UnioMarc® directly for assistance.
Architects, Interior Designers and Professionals
33. How can I collaborate with UnioMarc® on an interior design or architectural project?
At UnioMarc®, we collaborate with architects, interior designers, and design professionals to integrate our collectible creations into spaces with a distinctive identity. The dialogue between handcrafted glass and minimalist design allows each piece to introduce a unique artistic presence into residential, hospitality, commercial, and architectural projects.
You can select an available piece from our catalogue, with the dimensions, materials, and finishes specified on its product page, or propose a bespoke commission as an independent project. In this case, we will explore the creative and technical possibilities of developing a new piece tailored to the requirements of the space while preserving the distinctive language of UnioMarc®.
To begin a collaboration, contact us through PERSONALIZED ASSISTANCE or email info@uniomarc.es. Share the concept of your project, its location, the pieces you are interested in, and your expected timeline. We will advise you on current availability and the possibilities for developing a bespoke creation.
34. Can I request technical advice, specification sheets, and 3D files for my project?
Yes. We can provide professional guidance on selecting and integrating UnioMarc® pieces into interior design and architectural projects, together with information about dimensions, materials, finishes, and recommended use.
If you require technical specification sheets or 3D files, let us know which model you are considering and the file format you work with. We will confirm the resources currently available for that creation and provide the documentation that can support its integration into your project.
For catalogue pieces, the published photographs and specifications correspond to the work offered for sale. For bespoke commissions, dimensions, materials, and artistic direction are defined specifically before the order is confirmed.
Our professional support accompanies both the selection and development of each work, respecting the vision of the project while preserving the singular identity of handcrafted glass.
